Acela is the new high-speed service between Washington DC and Boston, the first of its kind in the US. The sleek new Acela is an illusive beast. We've seen it, but not too often. Amtrak must still be trying to work out the bugs, because as of this date everything is either diesel or the older electric trains. Sorry to say, we don't catch every train that passes. Sometimes the trains pass so quickly they fall between our image captures. We can capture and transmit every 20 seconds, but some trains pass by in 10 seconds.
The above picture was probably the 6:32 pm westbound which passed at 6:22:27 pm. Nothing else passed until 6:52. This photo was hand snapped so it doesn't have the time stamp. The 6:32 is supposed to be an Acela electric train, but as you can see it isn't yet.
You can see the U.S. Coast Guard Eagle in the upper lefthand corner.
The photo above must be the eastbound 7:12.
