The woodwork is unpainted in
most of the house.
West end of main hall leading
towards the kitchen. The top of the newel post is
swirled like the top of a Dairy Queen ice cream
cone. Matching post is at top of stairs and on
stairway to 3rd floor.
Each post under the rail is finely turned
wood like the pieces in the middle of the newel
post.
The radiator is brass.
Note the wall paneling on the sides.
This extends all around the hall. Ceilings are paneled
too.

Hall ceiling. Photo was
taken from the stairway shown above so that this is just above
the newel post. You can see dust on the woodwork if you look
closely. Dr. Cassidy must have had a full time maid who
did nothing but dust the place. |

The view
up the steps to the second floor. You can see the fancy
railing extends to the second floor. The
ceiling is insulated following our policy that if we
open a wall or ceiling we insulate it, no matter where
it is. |

Detail of downstairs door
frame. Each 2nd floor door has a different floral
pattern. |
